It’s the middle of summer and we’re feeling the heat! Just a few tips to help keep you safe during this hot caching season…Every cachemobile and backpack or fanny pack needs to be stocked with some basic first aid items–bandages, tweezers, antibiotic ointment, bug spray or wipes, etc. Keep a bottle of water with you even on the short hikes, it’s easy to get dehydrated when temps get up in the 90’s or higher. Watch out for critters, here in the midwest we’re always seeing reports of spiders, snakes, and other potentially dangerous “visitors” around our caches. Keep a flashlight with you for scoping out hiding places before you stick your hand in somewhere. Be safe and enjoy the summer caching season!
