You’ve got what you think is the perfect location for your next geocache hide–now do you have the perfect container? Is your container water-tight? Does it blend in well to the surroundings? Is it the right size for the area? Whether you lean toward the evil hard-to-find micros, the whimsical imitators of nature, or just a well-camouflaged lock-n-lock, make sure your container is right for your hide. Nobody is going to find much exciting about a business card magnet with a soggy log slapped on a guard rail in a patch of thorn bushes on a dead-end residential road.
Try to find a hiding place that is of interest, either historically or visually. If nothing else, make up a fun story about the location & let the seekers decide if it’s fact or fiction–at least give them something to think about. You don’t have to buy a container but if you’re using a home-made one make sure it’s well constructed & able to withstand the elements. Try to put some pride into your hides & keep geocaching fun for all!
