I guess it’s true, time does fly when you’re having fun. Summer’s gone & fall is here, and believe it or not it’s time to prepare for winter. You’ll want to check all your cache hides now to make sure the logs are in good shape. Replace o-rings on bison tubes and it wouldn’t hurt to put some silica gel packs in any of your larger containers possible. No matter how water-tight a cache is, it may be opened in wet or snowy weather allowing some of the dampness to contaminate the insides. If your logs are in zip bags check them too. A zip bag is cheap and easy to replace now, not so easy when the snow is deep and you get that dreaded message that your cache needs maintenance!
